State-of-the-art ultrasound and X-ray services for your pets' diagnosis and care.
Not all illnesses are visible which is why our team will use diagnostic testing. Our hospitals have high-spec technology to perform both ultrasounds and X-rays. These tools give us a visual of your pet’s organs and structures inside their body. Our staff has special training to carry out the procedure and interpret the results. To learn more about ultrasounds and X-rays, give us a call at 613-829-0220 or 613-843-1334.
These types of diagnostics are necessary when we need to learn more about your pet’s internal structures and organs. X-rays and ultrasounds are usually performed after your pet has had a physical and blood test and we need to learn more to accurately diagnose their condition. We use radiographs to examine your pet’s skeletal system and organs. X-rays can diagnose conditions like spinal cord disease, pneumonia, fractures, arthritis, gallstones, tumours and foreign objects. Ultrasounds can identify pregnancies and examine the liver, kidneys, heart and bladder.
Radiographs (X-rays) use a beam of light and take a picture as soon as the light passes through the body. Radiographs come in different varieties so they can monitor different parts of the body like dental radiographs to examine the teeth and gums or echocardiography to examine the heart.
Ultrasounds use sound waves to create images of your pet’s internal system. Ultrasonography allows our veterinarian to gather useful information about what’s going on in your pet’s abdomen. With ultrasounds, we can determine the size of organs and tumours that are not visible on radiographs. We can use ultrasounds to guide our veterinarians when performing organ biopsies for further testing.
